Jym Marks Quartet

Jym Marks, an extraordinary musician who is invoved in the arts of poetry, writing and public speaking, has returned to his first love through strong encouragement from Fred Berry, trumpet player and Stanford professor, and longtime friend Pete Douglas. Upon his return to the music scene, Jym celebrated with a great performance at the Bach Dancing and Dynamite Society in Half Moon Bay, California on February 4, 2006.

As an active jazz drummer, Jym has played with Pony Poindexter and George Duke at Jimbo's Club in San Francisco. He has also had the opportunity to sit in with John Handy, James Moody and Dexters Gordon, to name a few.

Jym’s passion and talent as a musician was publicly recognized in the late 60’s. At that time, he formed the Jym Marks Quintet, a local Jazz ensemble, popular in the Bay Area.
